Makes sense to me. I was wondering how this thing stayed in there without a cam button or some kind of retention plate

Didn't the factory run some regular cams in roller blocks in trucks or something?

This is the kit to covert them if you have a roller block already so you should be able to go back.

I don't think I am confusing it.
You have to swap the cam with it also.
