If the "eye" is bad then the car still wont start. Thats what happened to me. Does your security light stay on?

Re: Starter?? turn key and nothing.

I have an aftermarket security system and the car has only done this 4 times in the last 6 months. I didnt notice anything, but I'll check next time it happens.

Re: Starter?? turn key and nothing.

do the lights pop up on the dash? idiot lights?

you said no humming no spinning sounds? when my starter went out it sounded like a mini fan when i tried to turn it on.

if no idiot lights, im putting a wager on the column ignition switch, cause thats what happened for me. i forget if my radio worked you can take a peak at my thread it was about Feb 29 of 2004 that i got that sob out of there.. and went on a 1 day delayed vacation up to the mountains... it was terrible tho took me so many hours and by the time i got the screw in my arms and body were so tireless i couldnt put the coulmn back in, had to wait till morning
