Starting Issues

I just finished installing a new clutch in my car over the weekend, and ever since I have been trying to get it started. I have tried the following. First step, charge the battery (optima red top - six months old). I turn the key over and only here a click from the solenoid. Must be a bad starter, I notice from early posts that if the battery post is loose the starter usually will not work. Found a Jegs starter and install it, no luck. I then begin to wonder if there is something installed wrong. Check the wiring diagrams for loose ground and the Theft deterrent relay. Everything checks out. Hook jumper cables to battery leads while they are off the optima to a truck battery. Still no starting. I then climb back under the car for another look see, flywheel and starter gear are meshed together fine, but no starting is happening. Finally I decide I better try and turn over the engine by hand just to keep my sanity and beyond the buildup of compression it turns over fine. I would like to push start it, but if it does not start then I have no way to get it back into my garage. If anyone might know something else to try PLEASE HELP.

Re: Starting Issues

Does anyone see a reason why I could not push start the car since I can turn it over with an 18in breaker bar at the crank?
