A number of things can lead to a hard start, especially ignition components. If the fuel system is not operating properly either, that can also lead to an issue. How does the car run otherwise, once you do get it to fire? Do you have access to a fuel pressure gauge, if so, see what the fuel pressure is doing during all of this.

Another vote to check the fuel pressure. Common issue for the check valve in the fuel pump to get stuck open, allowing the fuel priming pressure to bleed off.

if it's not fuel related, which it probably is. Get your alternator tested along with your battery.
