Question Starting problems

I own a '95 LT1 Z28. I have been recently having trouble starting the car. The car hesistates and then fires right up. When the car is running, the RPM's fuctuate between 500-1000RPM.
Has anyone had this problem and if so, what did you do to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem but i noticed mine when i put my optima in. cranks over a little slower the fires right up . I have a grip load of electronics in the car plus under-drive crk and alt pulleys. PLus i live out here in the heat, so , maybe a combo of all the above!! My rpm doesnt fluctuate though . Until it doesnt start anymore and i need a new starter will i fix it !!! Good luck on fixin the idle!

WELL, it could be a few issues. Besides the basic plugs, wires, coil, opti starting to go. It COULD be, which was my case, my fuel pump getting weak. I replaced it this weekend, and boom, she starts right up and works fine. Get a fuel presure test guage, test your FP on the shrader valve. Let us know. How many miles?
