starting trouble?
I was in class today, come out, car been sitting about 2 hours and go to start and get nothing. The voltage gauge takes a natsy hit when I turn the key and thats it, so I try again a couple times and it finaly starts. It rarley ever does this but it does do it once every few weeks. I had the alternator, battery and starter tested and all came back fine. I'm thinking I have a bad ground on my starter maybe?

Cool, I'll check it this weekend, I had a loose battery terimnal on a car before and when I turned the key every thing would just die. Then I tightened the negative terminal down and no suck problems. It just takes a voltage hit when your turning they key so I'm guessing the ground on the starter may be a little loose.

A couple of spots that are missed all the time is the 2 grounds at the frame and the engine. Take them off, clean and retighten them.
Pull the cables off the battery and see if the contact point is corroded. It's hiden when the cables are attached to the battery.

Cool, thanks man, I'm convinced I have a ground problem. This si the good thing when you start working on cars for yourself, you can attack the problem and not have to pay a shop to do it for you.
