steam gaskets from napa.. are these it?
Are these the gaskets i need for the back of my heads? Do i just need to buy one package from napa or two?

Those are the ones. Looks like they are getting over $9/each. I paid $8 for the genuine GM part a month ago. If they are a buck from napa i'd get 'em there, but if you get them from GM it takes a day to order it in. Make sure you don't destroy the banjo bolt, they are no longer available. Hope this helps.

do u have the napa part number for the oil plug washer? what is the correct term for the steam pipe gaskets when i ask someone about it at the counter.. they get all confused

I would just buy the correct ones from GM for piece of mind, but that's just me. I don't know the part number at napa, but they should have it in their computer.

Not much fun to do. If in doubt, I put a mark on the crank balancer, point a timing light at it, and see if the mark jumps around. It should move smoothly as you rev the engine up and down, etc. A worn chain lets the cam get sloppy, and thus the ignition timing, so this is a pretty good indicator. If it's OK, I'd skip the timing chain. Save that for when you do the Opti and/or water pump, it's much easier then.
