Steering wheel isnt 100% strait

My steering wheel requires you to tilt it a bout 15 degrees or so to the left for the car to track strait. If I turn the wheel directly strait the car turns off to the right.

Is this caused by a misalignment? Its not a big deal, just a little peeve of mine. I'd like to get it corrected if possible.

Thanks

An alignment will fix it. It's probably one wheel toed in, the other toed out.

I had the same problem on a Chevy Blazer, it wasn't only the alignment, but the steering wheel had somehow moved off the center a little bit. Took the steering wheel out, and corrected it to the right position, and it was all fine. But you should definitely try an alignment first.

Alignment should fix it up, mine was off somewhat after I rebuilt the front suspension and got it aligned and fixed it right up.

It is most likely toe. If the car does not pull but the steering wheel is just off to one side, you can fix it yourself with a toe gauge and some time. The steering wheel on these cars is indexed to the steering column shaft and can only go on one way.

Smacking a curb will throw your alignment off only if it bent something, I mean if you know how it holds together, there is no way of it "falling out" of specs. Take it from me I align about 50 cars a week, all kinds and have seen it all.

Camaro_Maniac63 Sounds like to me someone replaced the pitman arm and put it on the wrong notch on the gear box...90 degrees on the box, about 5 degrees of toe

Need an alignment? Come to my shop and I'll fix'er up

Oh, also your Camber might be off also. If there's .8+ degree split between left and right camber, then you'll get a pull, but most people would think it's toe just because you steering wheel isn't center, but that's off center to compensate your car from pulling see what I mean?

PS, get a before and after print off of your specs...

well, after I smacked a curb, my wheel was off 90* to the left, and the alignment was **** poor. Took it to get re-aligned, but they couldnt get the wheel completely straight, because the inner tie rod ends are bent. This happened like 3 months ago, and it still isnt fixed
