Sounds like E85 would be good for a car that requires race gas. Too bad there aren't any gas stations in VA that sell it.. that I know of haha.

I was just wondering the same thing

There's alot of guys around my area tha run E85, most of them however are supercharged or turbo cars. I've never really looked into running E85 in my car because my understanding is that it won't help a N/A car much unless I was getting detonation problems on 91 octane.

Apparently thats not true so more details on the tuning please

If I could safely run a 50/50 mix and gain some nice power without changing a bunch parts out, I'd be all over it

Thansk Gary How has things been going for you? I compared my #s and yours from your website from 3000rpm to 6300rpm and it is amazing how close they are. I feel if my clutch holds up i am going to hit the track as soon as the weather will allow me.

The car had to be retuned Diffrent air fuel ratio @WOT. IMO with out a proper tune i don't think you will see very good results. I have an E85 tune and a93 octane tune for my car i just switch tunes. The car needs more fuel and timing for E85 to work properly.. Supercharged, turbo and high compression cars will see the most gains from E85.

I just wanted you to say it because a couple people are thinking your car was gonna EXPLODE on the 93 tune...not knowing that you were tuned RIGHT, then tuned AGAIN for corn liquor!

FI cars are going to see the gains becuase it 103 octane and burns cooler. I also think there are a few other perks but i dont remember them off the top of my head.

The reason there is more power with E85 is that it is oxygenated - running an oxygenated fuel is like running a little boost or N20.

More O2 means you can add more fuel, adding more fuel and O2 = more power.

Don't know the answer to that, I would think it is just a matter of tuning.

100% Ethanol contains 35% oxygen by weight so you are putting a lot more 02 through the engine than you would with air and gasoline. That's why the A/F ratio needs to be richer with E85, you are dealing with a lot more 02.

I hope the car doesn't go BOOM but i tried to prevent that. But i am making alot more power than stock bottom should handle. I like to push the limits. This combo has been in my car for about 4 years and still starts everyday. I can put the car back to the 93 octane tune and spray it and make 610+rwhp if i want but it could go BOOM guess i will find out..
