I think you meant http://www.z-e85.com/ ,good info there. I was wondering about the pocket book aspect and if it actually will save money to convert to e85.

Very difficult question as price changes vary. For a conservative example I usually save at least 15 cents a gallon, after taking in to account the 20% fuel efficiency loss.

2.5 fill ups up a week (using 14 gallons as a fill up since I usually have 2 gallons at fill up)

15 cents a gallon x 14 gallons = $2.10

$2.10 x 2.5 fillups = $5.25 a week saved.

$5.25 x 50 weeks (-2 weeks for vacation) = $262.50

So from conservative estimates it would take two years to get your money back provided the price of gas and E85 stayed static.

One thing I do know, if you can find a station that recently started offering E85 they are always much lower at first. It usually takes a station a month or two to jack up the price of E85 close to the 20% differential price in regards to regular gas. When one station opened near me it was $2.89 ($1.25 less than supreme) but within about 30-45 days the price when up to $3.25.

I think station owners are trying to recoupe some gross profit margin with e85. Gas Gross Profit Margin for stations have been getting smaller and smaller for gas station owners for 12 years straight.

While saving money in the long run is a consideration for me my primary reason was just to do because I wanted to know if converting could be done, which I was confident my z could easily be converted.

If I use the pulse plugs I should get back about 1 mile per gallon in fuel efficiency. I only drive my z about 7-8 months out of the year and garage it for the winter so getting mileage results using E70 (E85 winter mix) will be from a small sample. Will try to keep my web site updated every 3,000 miles or so.

Glad you liked the info
