Stock Pistions

How long will the stock pistons last under N/A life ...rev's in the 6800 range...

How much spark knock can the pistion take..

what will kill the pistion...

6800 rpm??? Unless you put in a new valve train to support that high rpm I'd worry about other things. But as long as you have good spark control I wouldn't thing your pistons should be a problem. Maybe someone else has more input.

I agree I think that the bottom end will go before the pistons do.

Do you plan on detonating it or something??

I highly doubt you could ever break a piston before a rod or crank under na conditions..unless you do not take care of the fuel system. as long as you keep enough fuel in there and dont spark it too early, the pistons will hold up to a hell of a beating, but they are heavy, and if you are putting enough beating on them to break them, you will need a better bottom end, but why replace crank/rods and not pistons.

in other words, no, you wont blow the engine with a piston as long as you keep an eye on it.

technically a stock bottom end could probably handle a 300shot of N20 on a head/cam car, as long as it is balanced well, and you keep the spark retarded enough with enough fuel to be safe, its ALLL in the tuning and machining.

Yes i have the valve train the support the rpm ...just thinking of when i go back to the dyno i am going to lean the out to about 13.4 afr and bring down the spark knock table in tunercat to see how much power i can get out of it....

i don't want to break a pistion...i want to push this set up and lean on it as hard as i can ...

thx
