Stock Rotating Assembly Cabalities

I am about to start a budget build 355 and alot of my direction depends on how much power the stock rotating assembly can handle. So I guess my question is how far can I push it without hurting it. If it can handle a motor build of say 550hp at the flywheel then I will use the stock bottom end with forged pistons. If not I am just going to build a 383. Any help is appreciated. Sorry if this is a question you guys see often. Oh yeah, motor only no spray.

the crank is good till 7-800hp. Many have taken it that farther. Would i, no.

the rods are okay but by the time you put ARP hardware into them your 80-90 bucks away from some cheap forged I beams.

Pistons I would go with something cheaper, anything forged. you want to keep even strength in your bottom end.

to make your desired hp your going to have to spin a 355 close to 7k. 4 bolt main.

What are you planning on for the topend?? AI/LE??

The top end will be most likely be AI or LE setup. What do you guys think of the SCAT steel crank with forged rods and pistons if I do the 383 build.

Stock crank is plenty strong, I pushed it to just shy of 900 crank HP.

Scat is the only crank i ever heard of breaking. Not to saying anything bad about them, but its the only one I remember breaking.

Are you set on a 383??
