stronger crank nodular iron or cast steel
Got a 93 Z28. I was wondering what is a stronger crankshaft for a 355. Would the stock one be stronger than an aftermarket cast steel crank? I am building a midly boosted FI motor and was wondering if I should use one of these cranks or just get a forged crank. The motor will not see 65oo rpm + or above 12 PSI of boost. I think that the stock one would be ok but I don't want to be pushing my luck.

Well, the truth is that both the stock crank and the good aftermarkets cast ones like the Scat 900 are way stronger than they generally get credit for.
Having said that, the additional cost of a forged crank is minimal. Oh, you can spend a ton of money, don't get me wrong. But you can also get some really good values.
Keep in mind that your block prep and your balancing are going to be perhaps the most important aspects of your buildup.
