Stumped: coolant leaks

My 96 TA is mostly stock, with long tubes, catback, and some other bolt ons. I was under the car today changing plugs, wires, and o2's.

Begining a few days ago, my low coolant light came on. I disregarded it, figuring it was just a bad sensor. While working on the car today, I took the cap off the radiator, and the coolant was full, so I figured it was just a bad low coolant sensor. For some reason, even though the car was completely cold, when I took the radiator cap off then put it back on, coolant started leaking from the engine bay. It was leaking around the starter area and near the front of the engine. The seal between the oil pan and block was wet, but I couldn't find the source of the coolant. There was also some coolant around the trans bellhousing. It wasn't alot of coolant, enough for me to want to fix. The engine bay is so cramped, its tough to see what lines run around that area.

Ideas??

Water pump in the front, coolant crossover between the heads would be a place to check in the rear.

Re: Stumped: coolant leaks

Are there any other lines that hold coolant external from the engine that I should check? I already checked where the lines go to the heatercore and they were fine. Also, no coolant on the carpet, so I figure the heatercore is fine.

I will check the rear crossover. I'll put my hand back there and feel for any coolant.

I hope its not a cracked block

Re: Stumped: coolant leaks

I've had cap seals quit sealing from just removing to check level and putting back on. The fans blow the coolant onto the engine so it looks like it's leaking at the motor. Worth a check.
