What is the difference between the 2 different style subframe connectors. It seems that the cheaper kind look like 2 bars with some flanges, and the other type almost has a latter type setup. Is there much of a difference between these 2 styles except for price. Somebody please enlighten me. Heres 2 examples.

the diamond looking ones will provide alot more support and a tighter feel...they are better

I wouldnt exactly say that the diamond style is better although they are stronger. They can become obstructions if you want to go with a more custom exhaust setup or some other components on the underside of the car. More or less DD SFCs are overkill unless you need the ultimate in strength SFC. For the most part, tubular or boxed SFCs will give you all the strength you need in a straight line and handling depending on what your goals are and how rigid the chassis needs to be to meet those goals.

Well in that case, Ill probably go with the cheaper ones then. The car is my daily driver so I dont plan on road racing it anytime soon. Do you prefer the bolt in, or weld in style?

Before you jump into it, check out BMR and other sites like that. The second link you provided looked kind of cheap and not easy or effective. The SLP's are overpriced.

weld-ins are better. although i have the SLP Bolt in SFC's i picked them up for 125$ so i couldnt turn that down. im running borla and they dont get in the way.

But yea WELD-IN is the way to go. bolts break to easy!!mad:

You could always weld the SLP's after they are bolted in place. There are some that are bolt/weld combinations.

Check out Hotchkis, too. They tuck up nice...a bit pricey, but mine have been welded in since 1995. Their powder coating is first rate, too. Plenty strong and effective with no clearance issues with exhaust...

I wouldn't buy sfc's based on price alone and the "straight" ones in the link don't look strong at all and I wouldn't buy them. I have personally had both types Global West straight on my last SS and SLP weld on's on my current SS and both are great but the Diamond style do stiffen the car considerally more and I like a stiff chassis so the SLP weld ins would be my choice.

the Bar type are not worth the money. save ur money and buy the other ones

I had a set welded in about 6 years ago and they still look good. Best mod you can do for a car that will be driven alot.
