Summit X-pipe+Dynomax bullets video

Here's a vid for you guys who are looking for a nice true dual exhaust setup.

http://hungryta.pokol.hu/xpipe_rev.wmv

I have a XE 233/239 cam, JetHot longtubes, Summit universal X-pipe kit (2,5") and two 12" Dynomax bullets.
Install was not that bad, but I wish I had more ground clearance

Enjoy

How bad is your ground clearance compared to just having longtubes? Is it 2 1/2" piping throughout? I'm considering doing a very similar setup this spring, pacesetter lts w/ summit x pipe, not sure on the mufflers yet.

Re: Summit X-pipe+Dynomax bullets video

Well, the bullet mufflers hang maybe a good inch lower than the LT collector flanges, I just couldn't hang them higher because it would touch the floorboard or the torque arm.
My car is lowered (QA1's all around) I haven't driven it yet with the new exhaust setup, but I think I'll have to forget crossing speed bumps...

Re: Summit X-pipe+Dynomax bullets video

I wonder if I could mount the bullets right next to each other where the regular muffler usually sits? Have them side by side and crossing over, hard to explain, but would take about the same shape as the original muffler. Guess I'll have to figure it out this spring. I'd take a look right now but the snow is now about as high as my wheels- I can only see the tops of them poking out.

Wow sounds very mean. I am getting ready to do the same set up, but in 3" with borla XR-1's and Kooks Stepped LT's.
Quick question, was the install pretty easy? Did ya have to trim any of the legs? Just looking for any issuse or things you had to do during the install.
Thanks Brad

Re: Summit X-pipe+Dynomax bullets video

yeah, that does sound bad ***. Im gonna track test my edelbrock exh., then switch to that setup and see if it picks up anything. I already got the bullets from my Iroc. just gotta buy the xpipe kit. whats the part # for the kit? got any pics? you know there is room under the back seats to "clearance" the floor pans under the seats. you can "relocate" teh sheetmetal about 1 1/2" up w/o even touching the bottom of the back seats. that helps aton. I fit full size muff.s under my Iroc that way when I first got it before buying the bullets. did you relocate the fuel lines? I hear they get close to the muff.s when routed that way. you should check. at least make a heat shield. man I do love the way that sounds.

Well, I had to cut 2" from the passanger side pipe leg, after the X section so it hangs in the DS tunnel now.
The install was not that bad, I mean I had to jack up the front of the car pretty high and I hate working under the car. I felt unconfortable wiggling and smashing pipes with a rubber mallett, but it actually worked.

I try to get pics for you guys, but till then do a search on "summit pipe" and look for Poormans thread, he has many pics.

Re: Summit X-pipe+Dynomax bullets video

Yes please post pics.

Also, could you give a more detailed explanation of the install? Where you mounted the mufflers, any other stuff you needed, such as certain pipe bends or lengths, etc. I don't want to have extra stuff laying around after my install, but then again I don't want to figure out that I'm missing something and have to wait another three days...
