That altitude yields an air density of about 0.0673 pounds per cubic foot. Sea level would be about 0.0745 pounds per cubic foot...both at 70 degrees F. You can expect a significant power loss with that difference. That air density is about what you get at sea level with an air temp of about 115 degrees F....

I'm honestly not able to predict hp loss due to air density.....maybe some of the drag racers can help.

as a rule of thumb... at least from my research you can expect to lose 3-4% for every 1000 feet.

so a 350 rwhp motor at sea level would be expected to make about 310-320 rwhp at 2800 feet

using bw hunters numbers you come up with 316 rwhp at 2800 feet, so i guess you can figure 3.5% per 1000ft and call it a day
