Suspension Help with LCA's, Please!?
Well I got my LCA's in from 4birdman today from the Group purchase, tanks to everybody involved especially 4birdman.
I thought LCA's were much smaller, but that is besides the point. I have not done much work on my car before and need help on how to install them. Can I just:
Back car onto Rhino Ramps
Get under car
Soak bolt with liquid plumber
Remove old LCA's
Install new LCA's
then grease them?(What do I grease them with)
I need to know if everything here is right and that will allow me to install them properly. I need to know what kind of grease to use and where to put it, I am ignoroant, sorry. I just want to make sure I do things right and everything will be good to go with those steps listed.
:hail: Thanks to anybody who can help :hail:

I think it'll be difficult to do it while they are on the ramps. I just did mine 2 weeks ago and what I did was jack the car up and put jackstands under them. Keep the jack under the pumpkin on the rear. Loosen the bolts then play with the jack so you can get them out easy. Red is right, do one side at a time. Make sure when you put on the new LCA's you preload the suspension. Jack the car up lil at a time until ou see the frame just start to come off the jackstands. Then its preloaded. LCA's will go right on. It will be too hard to do it while the tires are on the ramps. I just put bearing grease on it.

Agreed. The idea is to let the axle hang. Raise the body and secure on safety stands (one side at a time), then remove the tire. With the tire off you can easily take off the LCA, the axle will hang on the shocks. It's easy, about 15 minutes per side counting the jacks.

The part that confuses me is that on the directions from BMR it says to not put jackstands under the axel. When you all say the pumpkin you are talking about the direrential where the rear end girdle is right? The Lca's hold the rear axel on then?

No... they dont "HOLD" the axles on. You don't put the jackstands under the axle. But them under the body rails near the front of the LCA's. Yes, the pumpkin is the differential. Just do what I said and jack the car up under the pumpkin. Put jackstands where I said then release the jack just a lil so the bolts will be easy to remove. Just make sure you do what I said in the previous post. Once you get the car up you'll see.

Alright I think I understand this now. So I will need the two jackstands for the sides that wil hold up the frame and then one in the middle so I can get the bolts lined up easily, right? Sorry, but I really apprecaite your help. I need to do more work on my car myself.
