Tailshaft bushing on T56, need help ASAP
Hey guys. Took my car to a local friend/mecanic and we ran it on the hoist to see what my possible vibration might be. Looks like the tailshaft bushing is worn, too much play. He said that some trannies you can pull the bushing out with a tool he has without removing the trans, but others you have to drop it. He has never done a T56 before, so he does not know. Does anyone know what the T56 is like, and if so, how much is this bushing? Maybe a part number? This is the last thing left to fix the vibrations and it does wobble a fair amount. I want to go on holidays next weeks so I would love for this to be done. Thanks a lot guys.

Not really advanced, but...
I don't have a part number, but it appears to be the same bushing as the 4L60E auto (that's what I used in mine when it was stock), so any parts store should have it. Save money and get the kit with both the bushing and the seal, since the seal has to come out anyways.
The bushing can be pulled with the tailshaft housing in place, if you've got a slide hammer or can fabricate something. It's not fun, but it's less hassle than removing the tailshaft housing IMO. You'll need an appropriately-sized chunk of tubing to drive the bushing back in.
