Taking off Main cap bolts, They need to be dipped in oil right?
i just got 3 longer ARP studs for the windage tray because the other ones did not clear.
Couple questions-
When removing them I just loosen the bolt on one end slightly 1/4 turn? and do the same to the other side. Continue to do this until there is little torque on teh bolt/studs. But i still want to leave 1 stud in while i change the other.. this way so i dont have a chance of messing anything up. Then torque that one down some but not a lot, remove the other stud and replace it with the longer stud.
Sounds good?
Now when im reinstalling the new studs should i dip them in a bit of oil? and does it matter what kind?
77 ft lbs of torque on the main cap bolts right?
What about the studs where u use the allen wrench to put them in. How tight do those need to be?
