tell me what to do bout my engine rebuild problem...

Well, I got this crank from a buddy of mine... he said the crank was fine, well apparently it wasnt, and it had to be regrounded for the 3rd time i believe, so it got too small, and now unless i get custom bearings which are $$$$$$$$$$$ I think he said the crank will not be as tight as its supposed to be, but a bit looser...
My oil pressure is going to be low my engine builder said... he said i'll be seing bout 30psi compared to my normal 45-60psi... I can either say ok, lets just do this, or I can get a brand new crank for 400 bux, and have everything rebalanced again for another 100 bux (so another 500 dollars) and things will be fine... this will set me back 500 bux which i dont have, and also another week or 2 without having a car... which means i walk to school and pretty much grounded in the house unless a friend can come drive me around...

what do you say I do?

I would think you could buy a used crank from here in great condtion.. I know you can have crank welded up on a crank welding machine. Then they regrind it back to stock specs. Not sure of the quality, though. I would NOT use the crank you have now, though. If you were to it I would have time you would spin a bearing or through a rod.

I saw at a sema show a few years ago. They were using powered metal and spun the crank while they weld the journal. After welding, you place it in a crank grinder and regrind the crank as normally would. It is pretty cool to see, but I'm not sure how well it worked.

well, i think getting a new crank and then balancing would be almost the same price for such a thing

how much are custom bearings?

I have a stock crank that you can use for a decent price if you are interested.

Will defiantly save ya a couple hundred for sure.

a stock crank will only limit the motor's power

I've got a stock crank that needs cut about .10 I'll let it go cheap if you really need one and want to pay for shipping. I'm not using it right now unless some miracle happens and I get a half million dollars to finish the big part of my engine buildup.

ok 1st of all, i have wiseco pistons, scat forged rods, and etc...

this is for a motor that will be boosting 10psi+ the stock crank is good for upto 550hp or so... this car is gunna start off with 10psi working its way upto 20psi, which is why i wont use stock crank

I'd wait if you can and buy something decent, ie internally balances, and if any needed for external balancing or either checking, it would save on the balancing regardless:

If your going that nuts, I'd throw that crank you have in the trash. Also I really doubt the stock block will stand up to 20+ in boost.

That's funny, you have enough money (or at least talk) to go to 20 PSI but don't have enough to get a good crank. You obviously don't know what kind of pressure the blower will put on the bottom end, otherwise you wouldn't ask this question. And your other post to boost the oil pressure and volumn to compensate for a loose tolerance is way off the mark.

If what you say is going to be true someday, you will need exact tolerances and not boost pressure and flow with rigged pumps to compensate for a poor crank. High volumn is not the way to go.

Re: tell me what to do bout my engine rebuild problem...

so ure telling me an eagle forged crank is not a good crank?

we all learn by asking questions....

no need to be a ****ing smartass ok smartass?

I was just running through my options of what i can do...

I've already ordered a brand new crank, and it should be here soon (this week or next week)...

do me a favor and stay out of my post ok?

obviously i've had enough money to buy the turbo, the new motor, the new tranny, get everything rebalanced and buy a beater car which is a 05 civic yesterday, and still have money leftover for run-ins like these... now i'm out of my budget money and its coming out of my pocket... now i gotta wait 2-3 more weeks, and i cant walk to school and work for 2-3 more weeks, so I ended up buying the 05 civic i was making plans to buy in march

I dunno you, but I dont have an unlimited budget by calling dad because there is none...

the only thing i disrespect here is when ppl are like you...
