Temp Guage stopped working?!?
Oh God's of this forum who have saved me many dollars not having to get mechanics to diagnose problems with my car, I call on your powers once more. (was that over the top )
My temp guage stopped working a few days ago. Here is a brief story that tells you everything I know:
Car has never had an overheating problem. 10,000 miles ago I put a hypertech 160* T-stat because I bought the power programmer. The temp was even better after the change. However in the last month my coolant got really low (don't know how) but it was really low such that my light came on yesterday. However, 2 days ago the temp guage on the dash stopped working (don't remember exactly b/c I don't check it religiously due to the lack of heat problems). Now, it just sits on the peg at the bottom. Yesterday I went to the have the remaining coolant flushed and filled hoping that it would solve the problem, but the guage needle is still on the peg.
I have a buddy with an MR2 that says it might be the t-stat. The guys at the Kwik Lube also suggested it might be the t-stat, but were less sure when I told them that it was changed 10,000 miles ago.
Sorry this post is so long, but what do you guys think?

Re: Temp Guage stopped working?!?
I think you should check this connection. If it looks ok, remove the connector and ground the lead. Turn the key to ON and see if the needle pegs. If it does, your wire is ok. Replace sensor.

Re: Temp Guage stopped working?!?
that was fast...thx
I also did a novice spark plug swag last week and can't remember seeing the guage work after that. I did a search and some headers install ppl suggested that this sensor gets broken easily if you are clumsy. Could this be the problem?
Thanks for the pic
