Thinking big block swap .
I am thinking of putting this big block into the '94 camaro. The big block is a 498 should be close to 550-600 hp . Someone please smack me over the head . This big block is currently in a '74 vette but the vette would take more drivetrain upgrades than the Camaro. Not saying the camaro won't need to be upgraded but it's a better starting point than the independent rear the corvette has. ??

550-600 HP is great but the weight penalty over a small block is significant. I'm sure you'll end up 'ahead' but maybe not as far as you think.....
Good luck whatever you decide!

Yeah, what he said ^
But, if you have a mind to do it, there's been a few other guys who went before you and they indeed used TH400 or 4L80E and definitely a 12 bolt or Ford 9". One guy I remember did the whole thing then got rid of it a couple months later - he never said what the problem was or why he hated it once he had it completed.

Will it fit between the shock towers without modification?
It certainly would be unique, but I'm not sure I'd do that over pumping up the LT1 or even an LS1/2/3/7 swap.

Re: Thinking big block swap .
Not sure why you would other than to have something different but with the expense to do it and stuffing a bigger heavier motor under an already tight bay and all the suspension and drivetrain upgrades seems you could have two or three pretty sweet cars. Id personally put that in a nicely done lead-sled or 69 camaro and give that a new suspension a turbo 400 and a dana 60 and put heads n cam in your 94 and either stuff something back in the vette or sell it to fund the others. Thats just me because I would want the most bang for my buck as well as something a lil different. Not sure if you want a drag car or something unique cuz seems you would lose the handleing of the 94 as well as not really gain any speed or power that you could get with some spray or forced induction.

Here's a popular link to a "how to" on installing a 454 in a 4th Gen:
