Thumbs up Thinking of doing a heads and cam setup.

I've been thinking about what kind of setup I want to run on my car... Toss up between going all motor (N/A) or going with a supercharger...

I'm pretty sure I've made up my mind. I'm gonna go all motor. Then if I really want a quick "pick-me-up" I'll throw on a little shot of nitrous...

Here is what I plan on doing:

FUEL Setup - Keeping the injectors I have now (in sig.) and I've got a Walbro 255lph (intank) sitting in the back of my car. I don't really think I have to worry too much about my fuel system, it should be fine after I put in the Walbro Fuel Pump...

MOTOR Setup - Ported and Polished, LT4 intake; Stage II LT4 Heads. Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 236/242, on a 112 or 110 LSA haven't descided yet... I'll keep the stock "Hyperpathetic" pistons and crank, for a short while.

If I do descide to put some sort of notrous kit on, most likely a NX kit, I will tear down the motor again and be spending a pretty penny on a completely forged rotating assembly... (Crank, pistons, and what not.)

TRANNY Setup: Haven't descided if I'm gonna stay A4 and just get my tranny built, or go with a T56... Or maybe a ZF6.

Haven't descided who I want to do my programming yet... Probably Mike Norris, he is local to me.

What am I leaving out? I know I'm missing something... Besides the obvious, rearend.

Your fuel system is fine, hypeuctic pistons will be fine for naturally aspirated, the stock bottom end might not like seeing the rpms that cam will like to run in. I would stick with that a4 if you plan on doing a lot of 1/4 mile work, a stick will actually slow you down. You should put out quite a bit of power with that cam and heads, Good luck.

Thanks. The reason I was thinking about switching out to a six speed is for the fun factor!

Stock bottom will take the RPM just fine, unless you turn out to be on of the rear people with some kind of problem.

I'm doing pretty much the same thing with the SS, but I am going with the CC306 cam. I have the LT4 heads sitting here awaiting the money to have them ported. If I use NOS I am going to stick with a 75 dry shot. This car is my dialy driver. I don't want to break to much.

I think with that cam, and heads to match, your going to be pushing the stock injectors. A dry shot is going to run lean and cause a nice boom if your not careful. Theres a chart floating around somewhere about injector sizes VS HP supported, you may want to take a close look at that.
