Those running skinnies up front please come in....
I have a set of Weld Prostars on the vechile right now. Borrowing them from a freind til I decide what I am ordering. They are 15x3.5 wheels with Futura 165R15 tires up front.
Question 1. This 165R15 tire has dropped my car at least 2 inches in the front and does not llok like there is very much clearance under the wheel well. Also the tire sticks out a little. So as you look at the front of the car you can see the tires sticking outside the fender a little. Now on his 94Zwhen the are on, you dont see that. Is there a better tire to use? Is the backspacing wrong on my car for some reason?
2. Could I run a 15x4 instead od the 15x3.5 up front? I really dont feel 100% safe with that little tire up there. Just would like a tad wider tire than the 165R15.
3. Do you know if the make a 16" skinnies for our cars?
The wheel I would like to go with is the Weld Draglight. I think they look a little nicer than the Prostar on a TA.
Thanks for any input!

Are you using a 5/16" spacer to clear the calipers?
Mine stick out ever so slightly.

I'm also using 165/15s.
I don't have any problems with clearancing at all, but I did have to shave the caliper down about 1/32" of an inch in three spaces.
Here is the spacer, and you can see the three shiny portions on the caliper where minor grinding was needed:
Pic of spacer.
No problems whatsoever.

So just so I know, I use a 5/16 spacer right? Im just making sure because I will be ordering from Summit tomorrow. Here is my order so far... If something does not look right please let me know.
(2) 15 x 3.5 Weld Draglights. Bolt circle 5 x 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" with a 1 3/4" backspacing. $114.95 each.
(2) 15 x 8 Weld Draglights. Bolt circle 5 x 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" with a 5 1/2" backspacing. $146.95 each.
1 pair of the Mr. Gasket wheel spacers. 5/16 inch thick $11.95
(2) Mickey Thompson E.T. Street Tires. 26 x 10.5 x 15. $159.95 each.
Now here are my 2 questions...
1. What lug nuts will I need with these? And if anyone has a summit book could they tell me the part number?
2. Is there going to be any problems using a 15 x 8 wheel and mounting the E.T. street on it? Summit book says in suggests to use a 8.5 wheel for these tires. Will it make a difference?
Thanks for any replys..
