For those of you with the CC306

For those of you with the CC306 how do youl like the performance of it? I just recently bought completed stage 2 heads with 1.6 roller rockers along with the 306 and was wondering what ET I could/should run? Also, will my car even start and run well enough without tuning to get it to the performance shop for tuning? Any suggestions on the install and/or other parts I should buy while doing this? Thanks!

Bret

welp, I got the cc306 cam and love it I'm expecting to run high 11's @ 115ish NA. I have 2 friends that hace the cc306 too. One has GTP stage 2 heads and goes 11.90's @ 112ish and the other has MTI stage 3 heads and goes 11.80's @ 116. Your car should start and run on the stock programming, but very poorly. You'll be fine driving it to the shop. A good suggestion is doing an electric WP conversion (CSI ~$135) and going with a cloyes double roller timing chain($80). The CSI frees up a few ponys while the cloyes will be much more durable in the high rpm's. Your gonna rev the **** outta it with a cc306, so you need a nice timing chain. Did you buy rockers for 3/8's stud or 7/16's? I upgraded to the 7/16's myself, once again more reliability and stability in the high rpms. BTW, I also upgraded to svo 30lb injectors and a walbro 255lph pump. You can get away with running your stock 24lbers, but you'll prolly need a better fuel pump( autoperformanceengineering.com has a walbro 255 lph GSS307M for $85). Hope this helps

you will love the cam! i have it with a set of MTI heads and when i tried to tune it on the dyno my stock fuel pump was not providing any extra fuel above 5700RPMs but even with it being very lean at 5950 RPM's I made 411 rwhp. I still have not done any tuning with the 255 pump or got to the track for times. i might do some tuning later this month to get it finally done.

You'll love that cam Bret. I bet you'll put at least 370 rwhp with the limited amount of mods you have and run low 12's all day on at least ET Streets.

As far as the tune goes, I forgot the year of your car, but do you have ODB I or ODB II? I do have a great base tune I could load for you if you have ODB I then we could go from there. Email me at csabatka1@hotmail.com and we could work something out.

Just wondering if you have a complete list of mods that I could look at. 411 rwhp and running lean on the top end is pretty impressive. Better yet how about a dyno sheet? 411 rwhp is pretty hard to believe.

I was already planning on getting a new pump and timing chain. What about an electric water pump? I'm already going to have a 160 thermostat in it as well as the SLP fan switch.

Chad,

I'll send you an email in a couple minutes.

Just had the heads and 306 setup and i'm having troubles even after tuning. my ses light keeps flickering. i have no vacuum leaks and new ignition mods on my car and it still dies some times. when at idle i rev it up over 3 to 4k i let off the pedal and it will come back down and die. then i will try to restart it and smoke comes out from the back. if anyone has any ideas. my scanner doesn't pick up the codes either and the guy at tpis can't figure it out.

So with the 306 cam, Stage 2 heads, new opti, timing chain, fuel pump, 1.6 roller rockers, ET Streets, Hooker Longtube headers, 3200 stall, wires, & NGK plugs what should I run? Eventually I will be adding a 50-75 shot.

Brett- It should be a good cam for you. And I would take up Chads offer on that program if I were you!

I say you'll start out at mid to high 12's, just because you'll be pretty inexperienced with that much power. You'll work your way down to low 12's, high 11's...

is it ok to go with the cc306 cam alone, with nothing done? besides the 1.6RR of course...and possibly an intake and LT's and true duals? What numbers could I expect to push? And can anyone give me a link to a site that sells the CC306?
