throttle body top seal/gasket

just checking the car out to make sure it's ok as i'm thinking of selling it,
want to make sure it's in good shape for the next owner,
well, decided to clean a few bits and bobs and when i removed the top cover on the throttle body i found it looking like this!!!!

(click on image for a bigger view)
is this normal????
if not, why is it like this????
i'm off to get a new seal tomorrow but was just wondering about the state of this one,

thanks,
natt

yeah, thought it may be,
either that or the wrong oil, and i know the previous owner used expensive oil,
it feels kinda soft and stretched,

my guess would be that the hot coolant running though the throttle body overtime softens it up

Mine was so stretched that I could not put the cover back on. It is a dealer item and comes in a kit. I believe I paid $13.

They get that way from oil contamination. Pretty normal.
