ticking sound coming from front of car, seems to get faster with higher rpm

I am thinking this may be caused by a small exhaust leak I noticed right before the cat on my 93 Z. Could this be the knock sensor picking up the tick from the exhaust leak?

What else would cause a ticking sound?

I don't think jbweld would hold up to the direct heat of the pipes - i've tried it on my header/ypipe collector, with no luck. The jbweld cracks and peels away after a couple miles.

And depending where the exhaust leak is, the KS *will* pick it up. I had a exhaust leak at the pass. side collector, and it was picking up about 6-8 degrees of kr.

well, both

As the car is moving (I hear it real good in the parking deck at school), and when it is sitting, if I put it in neutral and give it a little gas, it goes faster also.

That's why I feel it is the exhaust leak

i'm no expert, but i had a ticking sound that was very similar to a lifter tapping...turned out to be a spark plug wire that was arcing to a close ground...pop your hood at night and look where your wires are running...it'll probably be a blue arc if it's a bad wire.
