Tightening Canton Valve Covers

How much do I tighten these allen screws down? I think Im tightening too much, the rubber gasket starts squeezing out the side. Whenever I think one screw is tight enough, I think another isnt which starts a chain reaction of me continuing to tighten them all. Do you think if I have them all evenly snug and then tighten just a bit more after that do you think its enough to make a seal?

Start from the inside and work your way out. Overtightening them is not good. I'd keep the torque to MAYBE 6-8 ft./lbs. max.
