time to upgrade (long tubes)
Ok im going to make this as short as possible. I have an exhaust leak and I have decided to upgrade to long tubes. Cash is low but I do want a good set. I have been looking at pacesetters. Pros and Cons? Install tips?? I live in NJ and need to have cats to stay legal (yes I know that relocating the cats isn’t totally legal) I want AIR and hi flow cats.
Thanks,
Erick

go with the pacesetters. i just installed a set and it was a damn easy install. I didnt have to lift the engine or anything...everything just bolted right up. I was also impressed with the overall quality of the product!

I agree, go with the pacesetters. I also just helped with an install and it went smooth. We had te car on jackstands (about 18" high) and they went in from the bottom very easily. I like them much more than my Jethots. Good luck!!

pacesetters arent a bad choice. especially when comparing costs. i think any way you go, you will be happy you got long tubes on. might want to consider getting them coated though. makes a huge difference.
make sure to use some breslin bolts when putting the headers on. you can get them from www.summitracing.com- part #: BPP-200-076 (or a little longer ones, i forget the length needed). these will save you a lot of trouble down the road with retightening your bolts. also use felpro 1406 header gaskets. i wouldnt recommend using the ones they come with.

Re: time to upgrade (long tubes)
Due to the north east weather conditions I"d get a set of stainless steel headers. I have a set of pace setters that are ceramic coated...been on about a year and the coating is trashed underneath, its pretty much all off. Not to mention the welds on the pace setters are pretty poor. I'd save up money and buy a better set, preferably Kooks.

Guess you missunderstood my question. I am asking if i can mod the passetters ORY to have cats. Weld them in myself. I think that this would work but will it clear the floor boards?? anyone have the ORY?? how much room is the till it hits the floor boards??

I didn't misunderstand. I told you that if you got cats you would have to have a shop put them in. Obviously if you don't have cats now, you'll need hi-flow ones, like Carsound/Magnaflow. I have the ORY, and a lot of people have problems with the collector hitting the floor. My headers have not yet been installed.
