timing chain

Has anyone ever jumped teeth on their timing chain? I think I did on my lt1. It wont start and sounds like it is back firing out the exhaust when cranking. I thought for sure it was the opti but that did'nt help either. Any one ran into this before?

Re: timing chain

I suspected a jumped timing chain on my '94 with 230k miles, however it was fine. Running Mobil 1 for the life of the car probably doesn't hurt!

Re: timing chain

I got the car running tonight. I bought an accel opti spark and it must have been machined wrong. The hole the pin goes into would'nt run the car so I tried another hole on the distributor and it fired and is running perfect. I must have the worst luck with parts.
