Nothing is impossible, but I would say it is doubtful.

I would think you'd have to have a ton of slack, in the chain, to do that.....

That's a remarkable number. When you mentioned the chain sliping, I ws thinking a few teeth. But to slip half way around would take way, way to much slack. The must be another explaination. TDC for #6 on the compression stroke has the timing marks 180 degrees off for #1...which is also at the top of it's stroke.

Sounds like someone installed the timing chain while both dots were at 12 o'clock which would make you 180 off. The chain that I removed from my project LT1 was loose but there's no way I could imagine it turning 180*... the only other thing that I could think with it being a 94 it doesn't have the dowel pin for the optispark (please correct me if I'm wrong) so maybe the cam and crank locked up but the cam still turned 180 degrees? Just seems improbable.

Uhhh. Are you SURE it's off by 180-degrees? Have you tried turning the crank another 360-degrees to see if the dots line up?

IMO, it's damn near impossible for a chain to skip just ONE tooth.

Not likely from a wreck. I would more suspect that you looked at it wrong.
