180....mph?
The vehicle speed limiter can be removed by tuning the PCM.

The stock speed limiter is set in the range of 108-116, but only for cars that did not have the Z-rated tires when they left the factory. For vehicles that were equipped with the Z-rated tires, the speed limiter was set at 255 MPH. I don't think you hit the speed limiter.

What gear were you in, and what RPM were you turning? What mods enabled 180? And was that MPH of KPH?

180km is just shy of 112mph so I am going to guess this was km.

Perhaps he meant '95Z' as in '95 ZR-1'.

180 on a car that only registers 155? How'd you pull that off?

Like caprice said, remember that most of the world uses km, not m. No need for another "No Way!" post since I'm sure we all know that these cars are not hitting 180 anywhere near stock.

Surprising that the OP hasn't been flamed to a crisp - on some other forums this would be three pages by now .

That's why using the "Location" field in the profile is helpful - it alerts you to people who reside outside the US. This individual chose not to complete his profile.

Not true, the z-rated LT1 cars were limited at 155 iirc and ls1's 162.

I have the original PCM file from my 94 (which I bought new). It has "255" in the speed limiter field. That's the largest binary number that will fit. Other files I've reviewed have the same number. Your the first person in 10 years that's told me I'm wrong.

Exactly why I prefer this site. Not a lot of pin heads trying to flex their ewang.
