On both heads. i cant get the spring seats onto the two middle spots. its almost like they are a bit smaller..any reason for this?

Dunno, but I can't imagine why they would be smaller. Assuming the heads aren't on yet, I'd visit a machine shop for measurement an machining.JMHO

Is the interference with the center head bolt; if so it's not uncommon. You can grind down a small portion of the seat to get them to clear the head bolt.

no..the ACTUAL machined area is smaller in size..however that is interfering too. When I put the spring in any of the other ones without the seat in it theres noticably more room. And its the same on both heads.
