Trouble Codes...

Engine light was on in the car before, car ran fine for a long time like that. No problems. Got it scanned at Autozone and it said an O 2 sensor heater problem as well as EGR. I replaced the EGR, figuring if it wasn't that then it would be good to replace anyways. Engine light went out for a week. Came back on. I could disconnect the battery and reset the computer and the light would stay off for a day or two then come back. Took it to autozone today and had 2 codes. First one was "MAF or VAF sensor error" and the 2nd one said "O 2 sensor heater, bank 1 sensor 2"....
Do you think one of these codes is causing the other? I don't know what VAF is and neither did the man scanning my car. Also I've never noticed where the O 2 sensor is, is that hard to get to?

Thanks,
Bill

It's more helpful if you post the exact code numbers.

I've had the 02 codes off and on and don't have a clue as to why. I don't believe there is anything wrong, but others will opine. If the codes stayed on even after resetting, I might investigate further, but not until that happens. JMHO

O2 heater circuit code means that there is an open in that circuit. It is either the heater inside the sencor went bad (often you can hear something rattling around inside them when you shake them) or there is a broken wire / bad connection. use an ohm meter across the pink and black wires on the O2 sensor to check to the heater for an open.

A code # for the MAF error would be helpful. It may just be dirty though. Do you have a K&N type filter? If so the oil from them likes to collect on the MAF filiments and cause problems.

I have a moroso CAI but never had problems with that before. I don't have the code numbers. Maybe I'll get it scanned tomorrow and see if I can see the code numbers then. The guy who scanned it today didn't know what he was doing and was in a hurry to show me the screen and leave.

When I reset the computer now the light will come back on that same day, usually have a short drive.

So any specifics on where the location of Bank 1 sensor 2 is going to be? Access from the top or underneath?
Thanks
Bill
