Trouble finding ARP Waveloc Part#

I already ordered a set of "Waveloc" rod bolts (ARP134-6005), that turned out to be NOT Waveloc. I understand that Waveloc is only offered in the Pro and up levels. When placing an order at any of the websites that offer this part, how do I specify that I want the Waveloc kind? Or, is there a specific part # for LT1 Waveloc?

This is where I am looking: ARP Connecting Rod Bolts, Chevy | Northern Auto Parts:

Thanks

It does not say that 6005s are wavelocs on that listing. The wavelocs are listed further down the page. IIRC, I used 6403s. You might get other input to verify.

The pink vs. PM rods I believe need different part numbers.

Thanks Box of Shoes, I assume these are the ones you're talking about. There are two sets with the same part #: ARP Connecting Rod Bolts, Chevy Chevy, 305, 307, 350, V8 | Northern Auto Parts

Thanks again! Gonna go ahead and order a set of those.

Still need to pick out crank and main bearings. If the machine shop guy said the crank was turned .010" under, does that usually apply to rod and main journals or just rods?

You will have to confirm with the shop on the machine work. Most people say "10-10", meaning .010 on main and rod journals.

Yes, the crank is labeled R .010 and M .010, so both were cut under.

With the assumption that "pink" rods are indeed pink, I would have to say no they are not pink.

Re: Trouble finding ARP Waveloc Part#

"pink" rods refers to a better prepped forged rod GM used periodically over a few decades. They have a machined flat on the top of the rod cap. Powdered metal rods do not.

I can come up with pics if I need to.

If you have pink rods I am sure the basic SBC part number will be fine but I am sure that at least in one style of rodbolt from ARP the PM rods have a separate PN.

You see the pink paint on the machined flat on the cap? That is why they are called pink.

I don't see any pink. Then again, I'm not that good with identifying colors.

Re: Trouble finding ARP Waveloc Part#

On the big ends of the rods, you see the machined surface, on that there is a little swab of pink paint stained a bit brown by years of dirty oil.

I have known a number of colorblind folks and I think red variants is the most common to have trouble with.
