True Dual X-pipe question

I have the Jet Hot Longtubes (awesome) and was wondering what my options were with the x-pipe. Where can i go online to order them? How many different kinds are there? Not too worried about clearance since i dont plan on lowering my car but would i be banging speed bumps? I also have the xe 224/230 cam waiting to go in so should i go dual 3" or dual 2.5"? And what do you guys think of the dynomax super turbo mufflers? My friends have em on their stangs and they sound good, nice and smooth. any other good mufflers out there? a step louder than the turbos would be nice but i want a nice smooth deep ride. Thanks for the input

Personally I prefer the x-pipe config. for performance and sound.

I used a Burns Stainless x-pipe:

but.... Stainless Works, Dr Gas and Magnaflow, to name a few, sell x-pipes. Husker Exhaust sells the Magnaflow stuff at really good prices too

Good luck.

so i just need the main universal 2.5 inch kit right on drgas.com right? Are the summit turbo mufflers any good? they are only 15 bucks each If not those i was thinking about the hooker aerochamber mufflers. Have a direct fit aerochamber now and it sounds badass. will i need to buy dumps as well?

Try the 16 inch dynomax bullets (4"round) I think they are $35 or $36 from summit.

me and my Brother made my X-pipe from 2 90* Mandrel Bends that I ordered from Summit, cut the backs off and welded them together. Worked great, plus that way it was easier to customize the fit than having a pre-made part to try to fit in there

why make an X pipe when you can get one from summitt?

its part # BIG-53621 and its only 38 dollars

and while you are at it, order the dynomax bullet mufflers

WLK-24222 they are only 36 bucks.

thats the set up i have in my 96 formy with true duals.

that x-pipe looks like a badass deal! does it fit right up to longtubes? if not, how much work is required to get em on?? and im looking for 2.5 inch piping rather than 3 inch. Do not want bullets.......too damn loud

I had both three inch and 2.5 inch, the 3 inch are louder with a deeper more powerful sound, the other is quieter at llight throttle but still very loud at cruise. The summit mufflers I hated they were way to quiet and scrapped at certain times, like having someone in the backseat, the X will and duals will cause some ground clearance but not bad, except for the speedbumps, you must take them with caution

Hey offspring, I just installed Jet hot LT's on mine. I have true duals all so. I suggest using 2.5 inch pipe since your HP isn't really high. I also used FLO PRO race mufflers called Twisters 4inchs around and 17 inches long.

The shop did the x pipe by using 2 2.5 inche pipe welding each to the collectors and bending them together cutting a whole between the 2 where they touch and welding the pipes together and then running the pipes the along the drive shaft tunnel I had both race mufflers welded up and dropped the exhaust right before the rearend.

With the x pips and these mufflers the car idles really quite and sounds kinda like stock ( but alittle louder ) but if you get on it. The car wakes up and WOW sounds just like a beast.

Ask KMOOK on here he has pics of his done this way. I did mine the same way but he went out and bought an x pipe but if your shop is good they can make one.

The whole install labor, mufflers everything cost me 250.

check out KMOOKs pics you'll like them

Yea, mine's very similar... we ran it down the sides of the tunnel, then 90* twords the outside of the car to get rid of some of the resonation.... That was the one thing I hated about the cutout. Now I'm just on a mission to find a set of tips that I like...

If anyone cares, look on my site for a cheap but awesome true dual setup. I think I spent ~$125 for everything.
