tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
I got my tsp rumbler catback installed yesterday, drove it to work and a few of the guys were looking at it,I drove the car up the road and back so they could hear it and they all said it sounded like a v8 truck with straight pipes, didnt really sound like a camaro anymore,I had a friend drive the car so I could hear it myself and I agree with them, the car doesnt have that deep camaro roar like it did with the stock exhaust with flowcrapper muffler, did anyone else notice this after they got the rumbler??

Re: tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
I get compliments all the time on my TSP Rumbler.
"That is the loudest camaro I've ever heard!!..." and so on.
However, I had a gentlemen follow me to work and threaten me because it was so loud, it was waking him up in the morning when I flew by his house in the morning.
Only thing I could think of why I wouldn't want it on my car is the Drone it sometimes has, other than that, sweet sounds!

Re: tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
Sorry, but I've got to agree with the thread poster on this one...I've never actually heard the TSP Rumbler in person, but I've heard the SLP Loudmouth more times than I care to wish on the LT1 motor and it sure as heck sounds like a V8 pick-up truck with straight pipes to me. And the Rumbler is basically the same thing, only it has that Dynomax Bullet in the I-pipe instead of the hollow resonator of the LM. It's not going to change the tone that much.
If you want the deep, refined tone, definitely use a good sounding cat-back system like the Hooker, SLP 2OTL, or Flowmaster (although it doesn't flow well). NOTE: Install a cutout w/ the Flow"less"master
Mike
P.S. Just because an exhaust is "loud" doesn't mean it sounds "good"

Here is what it sounded like then - Start of 2005 Roadrunner Open Road Race
2005 RRORR Start
Here is what it sounds like now - 135mph pass at the 2006 Big Bend Open Road Race. Kooks LTs, no cats, no mufflers, Dr Gas Custom Side Exit 3" with X pipe.

Re: tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
The thing I don't like about the Loudmouth, open cutouts, or basically any other near straight pipe systems (like a Rumbler) is they have no tone to me. It's basically just loud, unrefined noise. Some people love it while others can't stand it (like me).

Re: tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
I have a flowmaster and it is wayyy to quiet for me. I drove 150 miles home with open headers and even though it was louder than hell I loved every minute of it.
If I could run open headers with megaphones as tips I would.

Re: tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
Mine is the same way. It sounds nice from idle-1900rpm then from 3000-6000rpm but it sounds like a pickup truck with cherry bombs between 2000-3000rpm at anything but WOT.
Accel (not at wot) between 2000-3000 rpm it makes the clacking/rapping/snapping noise that glasspacks make.. sounds like a hillbilly truck...

Re: tsp rumbler sounds like a truck:(
Honestly, I wouldn't even mess with a catback anymore. Just get true duals, its worth the sound and power you pick up. There's no way in hell I'm putting a catback on my car ever again.
