I'm sure if you could make a semi-affordable kit, it would be worth your while.
I know a few people who are having to deal with customizing everything for single/twin turbo setups on their LT1's.
If you make a kit that is somewhat easy and pretty affordable, I'm sure the people will come running.

Great job! Hope it works out! The only companies I know of are Turbotechnologies and Banks (???). You'd need to have a kit for stock bottom ends... 10.6:1 on hypereutechics. So, perhaps that can be a starter kit with very low boost from the controller. Then, educate people how to turn up the boost on a built engine. Third option is to have the Twin Turbo bolted on a prepped engine from your facility that can bolt up to the k-member in a few hours.
What about computer programming?
By dropping the compression in the engine, it will affect smog in California (correct?). I'm not sure what it does to HC, CO, NOx, etc.
Get the price started at a good intro (low but volume), get three or four dozen kits in circulation to get the word out. Also, this will cut the "pilot crew" a brake as they will run into issues on a new product and will be helping you address any issues.

Nice link!!! I'm a bit concerned about tubular headers and twin turbos hanging from them. The vibrations would work those headers in a bad way. Ultimately, you'll get cracks/leaks and with a turbo it isn't pretty.
Will you have support braces with your kit to secure the weight of the turbo to the block? Or will they be supported from the tubular headers such as CAS designs.

If I do it...it will compare to anything you can show me.

A TT kit for the LT1 is something that I want but isn't offered. If you can make one and keep the price affordable then count me in. But if its expensive then I would say f*ck it. Any idea for the price you could give us on a *complete* TT kit for the Fbody? I think that would help out ALOT on the feedback you will recieve!

Its hard to give an exact price when I haven't finished the setup.
I will have to atleast cover my materials in this, and make a little money.

I was just trying to see the reaction I owuld get.
So far it seems positive, as long as its cheap.
Probably won't be a "cheap", but affordable hopefully.

if i remember right, the article i got this picture from was in a 3rd gen Camaro.
btw, i just got my linkage fixed on my LT1 swap, i have WOT now and my 1962 Impala will flat scream with my 93 LT1, very impressed with the powerplant, now some power adders!

Well... I don't know about your 900Hp that you're talkin about man... Linginfilter Twin Turbo Vette made only 750ish, 604RWHP to be exact and on car and driver, they did a test with other "supercars" to see what was the BEST street drivable "supercar"... The Vette Won.. OBVIOUSLY (CHEVY)
anyway... there were other cars such as... Hennessy Viper, N/A... 800RWHP... and a twin trubo Viper and other crazy cars...
I think they might have brought the boost down, but still.. I think if you're going to think you're gonna get a streetable car that has 900HP out of a LT1... well.. don't get your hopes up TOOO high...
I'd bet my **** off you'll need at LEAST 50grand to get what you're lookin for.. at LEAST

The problem w/ TT kits is that everyone wants a $6000 system for $3000.
You can make a TT kit for a stock motor. It's all about tuning, keeping fuel in the cylinders and not f'n w/ the boost.
I remember the original kit that had:
PA Racing K-member
FAST computer
stainless headers
single intercooler
wastegates, turbos, and all piping
Nice kit except that the guy making the headers did a shoddy job. Then he split.
You'll need to offer tuning with the kit too. You need to make sure you or someone at your shop knows what the hell they're doing. Nothing sinks a company faster than a bunch of blown up motors.
Good luck...If I do it, I'll still probably make my own.

I'm looking at getting a turbo kit in 2-3 yrs time.
I think you would be more successful making a turbo kit that a stock LT1 can handle. Something around 8psi of boost.
Most people here aren't looking to spend $10-15,000 on a bulletproof bottom end, beefed up heads, etc, and then another $6-$7000 on a Turbo kit plus whatever to install it.
I am one of the odd ones that would be building something with lower compression to handle boost.
But if I had another LT1 kicking around I would like to do a 8psi turbo kit on it and leave it at that.
There are a few LS1 single turbo Z28s running around with nothing more than suspension, exhaust, and tuning mods running mid to high 11s.
I think thats where you would make the most $$. Making a kit that most people could get.

Turbos are great. 2 are even better. But most of the stock motor guys arent going to go for an expensive twin or single kit, just to have the motor blow in a month or so.
Post this over in the Forced Induction forum. Im sure you will get more positive feedback and help on designing the kit. ONE company makes LT1 TT kits, and at 7 grand, not many ppl are going to bite aside from the hard core people. People just dont understand. Turbo does NOT = bang for the buck. I personally would love it. You just cant compare a 7k twin turbo kit to a 3k Vortech kit. There is NO comparison, aside from it makes boost. Good luck! I hope you come through on this kit. I would LOVE to have 3 turbo kits to choose from now.
