Just got home... gonna go pull some oil out of her in a bit.
String.. I know it's a long thread, but I posted a little earlier that I have a new sending unit as well as a brand new mechanical autometer gauge installed. Both duplicate each other's readings.

Karl,
In this picture you will notice the reading on the dyno of VACUUM is -2.1, there is even more power in that motor if you can get rid of that. I like to see around -1.0 or less. On a NA motor your looking at 20-25hp right there.
BTW very cool site and video

I'll have the pump tomorrow

Re: Ugh, more oil pressure woes, pressure is dropping at WOT now..
Yeesh.. I shoulda just listened to you guys earlier.
I dropped approximately 2 quarts.. so that should leave about 5.5 quarts total in the system...
Oil pressure stays up! At full tach out with my limited RPM range right now (shifting at about 6200 rpm) the pressure needle gets to just under 80psi before the shift.
Oil pressure is at follows (only warm readings given as those are the ones that matter)
At idle in D: ~38-40 psi
Anywhere at cruise: 60psi
At WOT climbs to 80 psi, then falls to a little over 70 at the shift.
I'm going to put a regular street filter back in.. with only 15 miles on it the oil that came out was pretty gross from the Wix filter... I think that will also bring my pressure down a tad bit, along with going back to 10W30 oil.
WOT launches with the nose climbing in the air I did not loose pressure either, the rear baffle seems to be working well.
Thanks to EVERYONE for all the help and suggestions. Does anyone think the additional RPM to 6900 will make a difference later? Or should I be ok now? IE, will it build more pressure with the additional RPM...

Very good news. I'm glad you posted the result because I've been bird-******* this thread all night hoping to see the good news.

Yea, I never planned on running my pan on full. Ill run it on the low mark knowing its got a deeper sump.
Edit: Thats awsome man

Went from 7.5 quarts with filter to approximately 5.5 quarts system total.
I have the pump but I see no reason to install it at the moment. It's a Moroso 22125, 8.25" depth pickup.

You think this will lay to rest the theory that the HV pump sucks the sump dry? You fixed your problem by putting in the stock pan capacity.

Re: Ugh, more oil pressure woes, pressure is dropping at WOT now..
Been following the post for s few days now and am glad you got it worked out. I am pretty much running the same system with the milodon pan and the Melling M55HV pump. A friend of mine just got done with my 381 stroker and I just drove it back home yesterday. It held 60psi at cruise and getting on it got between 75 and 80psi falling like you said a little on WOT shift and then shooting back up. It is running 10W30 with a bigger filter at 7 quarts at the moment. Was wondering if I should put less in like you have when I give it the next oil change at 1000 miles? It now has 150 miles on it since it's 100 mile change.

Re: Ugh, more oil pressure woes, pressure is dropping at WOT now..
The HV pump is just overkill since you seem to have a ton of pressure... but I'm glad that your lower oil level paid off. There is no need to run that much oil (7 qts) in a pan anyways. Next oil change just dump 5 qts in it and call it good.
BTW you'll want to change out the oil after some miles to wash all the assembly lube and junk out of the motor. I do about 2 filter and oil changes before I call the motor ready to roll and I'm a clan freak on assemblies.

Karl,
I was just playin with ya... you know when the oil pressure goes down like that you have to tear into the SOB anyways.
The video and the site is fun BTW. Thanks
