UPGRADING MY BOTTOM END (the car's)
Planning in strengthening the bottom end. Like to replace at least
the Connecting Rods, with Eagle or Manley H Beam Rods.
Have a 95 Z28 LT1 A4. Please advise as to length of Rods stock and
for replacement., and/or other info I should know.
AND after intake and Heads are off, how much (time) work is there
in the job.
95Z28 LT1 A4: Red w/Black Ttop: 3:83: racetronix fuel system, full race
suspension, ...too much to list.

Don't bother taking the heads and intake off while its in the car, if you have the tools for the job just drop the entire k member to build the bottom end. I just bought a pullout LT1 from a 95 Z28 and i'm building it to a 383. I got a eagle crank, CAT 6" rods, and SRP pistons for $1600. I know summit sells LT1 stock replacement rods from GMPP pretty cheap, it says they handle up to 500hp. part# NAL-12495071 $249.95

Re: UPGRADING MY BOTTOM END (the car's)
Last week on one post the info given was that the weakest links in the
rotating assembly were the Rod bolts and bearings re: high rpm.
So rather than just upgrading those, figures I may as well replace rods
with HP ones which have superior bots and bearing. No-one has stated
that the pistons are the weakest link.My 95 Z28 will have a Lloyd Elliot
LE2 package, close to 500 HP. I do not want to go the stroker route, and since the stock bottom end setup is good for close to that, thought I would buy some extra insurance with suggestion given me. They could be wrong.

Re: UPGRADING MY BOTTOM END (the car's)
rod bolts and piston rings are the weakest.
Forged I Beams from Scat or Eagle are rated for 500hp at 7000rpms. So more like 550-600hp for most our 6500rpm applications, But thats rated safely. Cost about 180 bucks for a set. I put in 5.7 rods.
Pistons are about 550 bucks for a set of decent forged ones. If you dont plan on ever spraying just get some good hyper pistons and good rings. Cast cranks can handle a lot of power too. 200-450 bucks for a upgraded cast crank depending on who you buy from. Never seen anyone with a street car break a crank.

To me...If your just going to do an LE package then do heads and cam and be done with it. If you're going to tear into the shortblock, might as well buy a complete forged rotating assembly rather than replacing pieces/parts.
