Re: Useless poll! Does you lt1 leak?

Ion,

If it sits for like a week or two you might see a tiny drop or so on the ground, how ever it doesnt really leak, it has a couple pots where oil has seeped but none hits the ground and if it doesnt hit the ground I dont care. Its a 13 year old car, the intake seal did leak at some point how ever because the trnny is caked in oil. But all SBCs leak or seep some way or another

Mine leaks now after the cam swap. I think it's the rear main. Re-did the intake and that didn't stop it.

Yup, I've got a few leaks...very minor though.

Doesn't show it on the ground really.

I have a 96 Caprice cammed with 160K total and maybe about 90K or so on that motor no leaks exept maybe some slight timing cover wetness but never a drip.
A 186K mile Roadmaster Wagon, original engine best I know, the oil cooler lines leaked a little but an AutoRX application stopped it.

Well it really depends. When I used regular oil it never leaked. Once I started using Synthetic oil it started leaking right away. I don't know from where.

Doesn't leak a drop since my cam swap, I had a few before though. I just took my time to make sure it didn't this time.

Re: Useless poll! Does you lt1 leak?

Mine always used to leak from the timing cover/pan gasket area, but i just put in a new pan gasket so hopefully that will be gone!

Also the differential leaks, POS.

Thumbs up No oil on the ground

but when I do oil changes, I notice a little on & around the starter, wipe it off. Never seems to make it to the ground though. Never add oil between changes.
