Vacuum / PCV system bugs

Ok this past season i cammed my car and Im trying to work out the bugs now.

The problem I am having is poor vacuum and Id like to know if this is typical or if there is a problem somewhere. The cam is a 226/234 w/ 110 degree LSA so i expected some vacuum loss. That being said my brakes were quite noticeably weaker, my HVAC controls no longer work, and my PCV system doesnt appear to be working because i found some white "frothing" on the top of my valve cover. I have verified the PCV check valve to be A-O-K, and everything worked on the car prior to the swap - even the underside of the valve covers were spotless.

I was less than confident reinstalling some of the miscellaneous "plumbing" on my intake after the swap even though i took several pictures of everything before the teardown. I recall some fittings that remained vacant, and im not sure if they were always this way or not.

Basically id like to know if my vacuum loss is normal, or did i mess something up creating a vacuum leak? ...Just so i know where to start, thanks!

From a scan, at idle, what is the MAP reading and what is the barometer reading? The difference between those two is the manifold vacuum.

...or you could just stick an old fashioned vacuum gauge on it.

They will still work. It would have to be a problem with your a/c system or heater core for those not to work.

The AC and heater will continure to work just fine. The problem is the flapper doors in the ductwork for the AC and heat are actuated by engine vacuum. If vacuum is low, the doors may not operate correctly. There is a vacuum reservoir in the system that controls the HVAC doors, and a check valve to allow it to "store" vacuum when its high.
