valve covers for stud rockers and afr heads

what choice is there for tall valve covers that need clearance for shaft rockers, etc?
i see moroso makes some very nice but expensive tall centerbolt valvecovers http://store.summitracing.com/partde...OR-68026&N=120 303646
then i run across these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

does anybodyhave any experience with these?
im looking for some tall affordable valvecovers, any suggestions?
my alternator is relocated, so that isnt a factor
thanks

Re: valve covers for stud rockers and afr heads

They don't necessarily need to be a whole lot taller than stock to work. They do however need to be wider cause the pushrod side of the rocker may very well come into contact with the cover. I saw a guy last weekend who was using the LT4 composite covers with a shaft setup. Maybe they're a little wider... I don't really know. But I think that any cover with another 1/4"+ of height and a bit more width should work fine with shafts. Thicker aluminum covers would be better IMO because they have enough beef that you could do a little grinding on the inner walls if you needed. That and using a profiled-tail rocker will help.

The bolts look like their in the wrong place on the ebay covers. Wow, that's so cheap on the covers in Summit.

Good luck,

Mark
