valve springs and pushrods question
I'm going to be installing some crane gold 1.6 full rockers and I'm going to go ahead and buy some new springs and pushrods. Any suggestions what/where I should get? I'm not familiar w/ this at all so any help will do.

Are you still running the stock cam? As far as i know the LT4 springs are about the only decent ones that will fit the stock heads w/o machining. They're only like 30 bucks, so wouldn't hurt to pick some up.

Think long term if you're shopping for springs and pushrods. You don't want to be limited if down the road you do a cam and LT4 springs may not be able to handle the lift and spring pressures.
Go with a set of Crane valvesprings #10308. It's a kit that includes dual valvesprings, steel retainers and will bolt on without machining the spring pocket area on your heads. Make sure you get them setup with the right installed height and spring pressures. You want more spring pressure with the valve closed (stk is like 75-80lbs at the seat, mine are setup around 125 lbs at the seat) and you're go to go.
For pushrods, once the springs are installed and your rockers are on, use a pushrod checker to get the right length pushrods and get a set of Comp cams chrome moly pushrods if you're doing self-aligning rockers or hardened pushrods if you're using guideplates with non-self aligning rockers.
My setup has Crower SS self aligning rockers, crane valvesprings and retainers, and comp cams pushrods installed 3 years ago no problems at all. Everything works.
