Vats bypass

Vats bypass
Hey everyone, need a little help on bypassing this system. I did cut the wires from the relay and spliced the brown and purple wires to get it to crank the starter, but it will only fire for a second and then die. What else do you have to do to get it to keep running? Do I have to get one of those Vats bypass modules? Thanks in advance.

I know nothing about the wires you are talking about, but in my 93, the vat connector is at the base of the column, i believe to thin 22 guage white wires in orange shrink wrap. it broke up by the ig switch, but I didn't feel like fixing it, refishing the wire, yada, yada, yada.
I discoed it at the column base, measured the resistance of my key, went to ratshack and bought a bunch of resistors, soldered them together within 100 ohms of the key, shorted them across the connector, taped it up, and voila, fixed.

You still have to satisfy the requirement for the resistance of the key (if that part is not working or what is broke). If the Passkey module does not see the correct resistance, it will not pass the "fuel enable" signal to the pcm for your engine to run.
