very frustrating blinker turn signal problem

okay maybe someone can help me out here... i've been working on this one for a few weeks... sucks when i commute to san jose every once in awhile... kinda dangerous switching lanes... but here we go:

1st started with right turn signal not always blinking... just staying lit... and that wasn't consistent... would work all day... than stop for a second... than start again... sometimes it was just the oppisite... woudlnt' work all day... but than it would for a second... than stop again... than one day it stopped completely.... never blinked again... the left one still worked... but the right never blinked again... replaced all the bulbs...still didn't work... replaced the actual right turn signal socket... still didn't work... after a few days the left one stopped working as well... not even staying lit when the drls would kick in... funny thing was... the right side would lite up sometimes... but not blink... and always... the lights would stay green...

some notes:

-1997 z28 with daytime running lights
-both yellow hazards in the back blink when emergency flashers are on...
-both turn signals stay lit when parking break is up and in the garage (guess its the auto sensor thinking its dark?)
-both turn signals will not blink and stay solid green... no clicking sound can be heard
-replaced turn signal flasher, no change
-sometimes the right turn signal will turn on during the day, but never blink when asked too, i've actually seen it turn off byreflection in the car infront of me, all by itself...
- if i unplug the drl module behind the radio it will turn off...

so i've looked for a fuse that is specific to the turn signals but didn't find anything.... i'm thinking that i will just buy the drl module to see if its that... but considering i was sure it was the socket oh so long ago and plunked down 70 bucks i'm not so anxious to plunk down 112 locally or 52 online for the module... but i dont' know what else to try... i was thinking that i would do one of the drl disable mods tonight... see where that gets me.... any ideas? anything else i could test to give you guys some more info....

thanks i would greatly appreciate a solution on this one...

okay... something new and strange... maybe the new flasher had something to do with it... but now my turn signals will blink green on the dash... and blink amber in the back... but no blinking in the front... not even with hazards.... so any ideas? anybody have anything like this happen to them... i know that because its a 97 and that was the first year with drls... it might not be quite as common as a problem... but even searching the ls1 boards.... gave me little to go on... i guess the last hope is to disable the drl module... and if that deosnt' work just replace the module all together... and i guess if that doesnt' work... get my manual out and learn all about the wonderful world of electronics, cicuits, volt meters, etc.... or maybe just take it to the ****ing dealer and get bent over... but anyways... if anybody has any idea at all... i would appreciate it...

My 97 is doing the exact same thing. It appears it does it when it is warmed up. When the car is cold they usually work fine. five minutes after the car is started the right one starts sticking. I am thinking maybe the right front socket might be causing it. I need to check it again but I think on side of the brake lights may stay on when the headlights are on. Very frustrating. Like you said it probably we result in tracing through a schamatic.

It wouldn't hurt to check the connectors that are at the base of the steering column. Make sure they are all plugged in well.
