Very Good Article on Beehive Springs in Corvette Fever SEPT 2005, pg 68

This artcile explains how the newer designed Beehive springs are helping people make more horsepower , with reliability, with lighter springs , less pressure and since they have lighter retainers, they help the motor rev easier. Good subjective article.
Yes it is about Big Block Springs, but it still aplies to our small blocks, as the spring they use is the Comp Cams "920" spring, which is inline with the 915 and 918 Beehive they sell.

Its actually in the maazine. So, sorry. Basically it stated the HP and rpm gains and reliability. Comp Cams was the tester usieng there valvetrain testing motor, which spins a motor without the bottom end attached. ANd there were some dyno tests.

If you cant get to a bookstore, I am sure Comp Cams will have it posted. Tomorrow I can get more data as the magazine isnt here at home, its in work.

There are a few magazine articles out there on them.... I had a few of these in a post where Joe O and I discuss our feelings on springs. I think RobBeck started the thread.

Bret,

Based on your experience so far have you found similar advantages to
those discussed in the articles?

Yep....

I've had hyd roller motors go to 7500rpm without float with them.... my next one is trying for 8,000rpm with them and a set of Morel lifters.

Engine Builders are split to one side or the other with them, I personally love them. I have a buddy who does circle track stuff who even when I was giving him a set to try still will not run them, he even has 8,000rpm flat tappet 2bbl motors and will not run them.... I guess some cam companies can do that to you (Crower, Crane) Hell I sell lots of Comp stuff but I'm done with the new Comp R's and switched to Morels now since they are a much higher quality part.
