VERY random code 36

Plain and simply, can a malfunctioning MSD 6AL cause this to trip randomly?

Thanks

Re: VERY random code 36

Could be a faulty (intermittent) cam position sensor module in the Opti, or a bad/corroded pin on the harness connecter, or a faulty wire in the harness.

Thanks Fred, just did an engine swap recently, never had opti trouble up to this point. I've put about 1000 miles on the car so far. I did put a new opti connector....perhaps I got a bum one. It has just gotten me stuck as we speak....the car died and doesn't want to restart. I disconnected the MSD too, should be able to rule that out.

Is there any possibility it could be ICM or ignition coil related? Love intermittents. Sigh.
