Very Strange?

Hey guys got a 96 z28 and today my trans felt like it was really acting up. I have a 6 speed and when i got on it the engine sputtered a little. I drove it and realized when leaving the clutch in i really didnt slow my car....usually it will slow it noticably but this time it barely did anything. My check engine light went wild for a sec when it sputtered but thats it. I just want to know if my clutch is screwed or did i do worse damage?

could be a fuel problem, some problems that seem like transmission problems end up being fuel/spark problems. get it scanned, see what it says, and go from there

I doubt your clutch or trans could cause that without also slipping badly on acceleration.

If something prevents the DFCO (Decel Fuel Cutoff) from working, the car will not decelerate as much with the throttle closed. DFCO uses MAP, TPS, VSS, and RPM. Any of those sensors malfunctioning could flash SES and cause reduced deceleration with closed throttle. Codes may tell what sensor to check, or scan them and look for strange/erratic readings while wiggling wires etc.

If an intermittent TPS (Ive had that) the problem will generally stay until ignition is cycled.
